The life of Françoise Hardy

Françoise Hardy (80 years old), born January 17, 1944 in Paris and died on June 11, 2024 in the same city, was a French singer-songwriter and actress. His repertoire, based on melancholic melodies, reflected the doubts, questions and anxiety aroused by the torments of sentimental relationships and nostalgia. At her peak, she sang in French, English and German. In addition to her musical career, she was interested in astrology, which she saw as a complement to psychology.

  • She was married to the singer Jacques Dutronc and had a son, Thomas Dutronc.

There is a documentary film called “Françoise Hardy – So many beautiful things” directed by Virginie Linhart in 2018. This documentary traces the life and career of Françoise Hardy, with interviews and archive footage.

Her death in 2024 leaves a void in the world of French music, she will forever remain an icon of French song.
