During an interview for the magazine France Dimanche at the end of 2020, Claude Barzotti had made disturbing revelations about his state of health. “I can’t stand up anymore,” he confessed.
I can’t even stand up anymore…. I am seriously ill. I am currently suffering from terrible pancreatitis which forces me to go to the hospital every day. And sometimes I have to stay there several nights in a row. Been spending all my time there for over a year for liver, stomach and heart related issues. For my alcohol problems The doctors told me that it was getting very complicated and that they had never seen it. They don’t even understand how I’m still alive. . Suffice to say that my morale takes a big hit…
I’m in such a state that I barely walk ten meters, I’m out of breath. You understand very well that it is therefore impossible for me to continue to sing… Since the month of February, I haven’t touched a note on my piano, I no longer even feel like singing, alone, in my corner.
I will be lazy! And I’m going to fully enjoy spending time with my three granddaughters, my dog, my cat…
All is not so black, you see?
