It took him a while before he started talking to me on car rides, explains Patrick Roussel. Sometimes we could go more than an hour without saying a word; other times, he told me about his life. He talked about everything and nothing, often about his childhood. I never heard him say anything about Sylvie Vartan or Adeline Blondieau, but he sometimes mentioned Nathalie Baye. He told me he would never marry an actress again because they were 'too complicated'. Such a confession surprised me, because he was married, and I don't think he was planning further nuptials.
