The first halftime show of the Superbowl took place in 1967. The first activities consisted of concerts by local brass bands which moved rhythmically on the field, accompanied by majorettes. Little by little, variety singers were invited into the programming. It was in 1993 that the show took on a global scale. This year, it is Michael Jackson who performs on stage and The King of Pop will remain motionless for more than a minute and a half. A major evolution then takes place, because all the spectators present in the stands, as well as all the viewers around the world, cannot take their eyes off this immobile icon. This is exactly where the SuperBowl halftime show becomes almost as important as the game itself.
Since then, there have been many legendary halftime shows. SuperBowl but one of the most striking remains that of Lady Gaga in 2017. That day the Star delivered a sensational solo show with a mix of his greatest hits. Her spectacular descent from the stadium roof and her energetic performance confirmed her place among the great pop artists. Lady Gaga was also praised for singing live throughout the show, breaking with the usual practice of playback. The singer put on a grandiose show, with fireworks, dozens of dancers and changes of scenery. This show is definitely one of the best halftime shows of all time!
