Asked by a teacher from Vénissieux, the singer agreed to compose a song to accompany his students' show.
Jean-Jacques Goldman responded favorably to the request of Nadia Bachmar, school teacher Louis-Pergaud de Venissieux nearly Lyon, who asked him to compose a song for his students' play on the Resistance.
I knew that his father had been a resistance fighter in Vénissieux and that he had participated in his liberation within the resistance with the FTP-MOI (Francs-tireurs et partisans – immigrant workforce), on August 26, 1944, that therefore made sense to ask him. In June 2022, we recorded it at Michael Jones' studio, in eastern Lyon. Jean-Jacques could not be there but he added his voice in the intro afterwards, reciting an extract from the letter written by the Armenian resistance fighter Missak Manouchian.
