“It Had to Be You”. Listen again to the song from the movie “When Harry Met Sally” which was released 35 years ago.

“When Harry Met Sally” is an American romantic comedy film directed by Rob Reiner, released in 1989. The film stars Billy Crystal as Harry Burns and Meg Ryan as Sally Albright. The film was a commercial success upon its theatrical release, and Nora Ephron received a BAFTA Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for her screenplay.

It Had to Be You is an American song composed by Isham Jones with lyrics by Gus Kahn. It has been recorded by many artists. Frank Sinatra performed it with the orchestra of tommy dorsey in the early 1940s before embarking on a solo career, but did not include it on any of his albums until Trilogy: Past Present Future in 1980. This version, arranged by Billy May, was used in a crucial scene at the end of the romantic comedy when Harry walks around New York the day before New Year.
