Born in USA New Jersey on February 18, 1954, John Travolta is the son of a Neapolitan immigrant and an actress of Irish origin. At 16, he left school to enroll in tap dancing lessons with Fred Kelly, The brother of Gene Kelly. His desire to play in musical comedies quickly came to fruition as he quickly obtained small roles in shows Broadway
It is thanks to cinema that John Travolta will become a world star, and in two films in particular Saturday night fever (1977) et Grease (1978), which he shot after being noticed in the successful TV series Welcome Back, Kotter (1975-1979).
In the 1980s, he made poor choices in his roles and declined somewhat. It bounces back thanks to Pulp Fiction (1994) by Quentin Tarantino, a film which earned him another nomination for Oscars.
Travolta then increased the number of shoots, especially favoring action films (Broken Arrow in 1996, Turnaround in 1997, Operation Swordfish in 2001, The Attack on Metro 123 in 2009…).
John Travolta continues an exemplary career. It still remains very popular around the world today.
