Death of singer Gilles Dreu, the performer of “Alouette, alouette”. He was 90 years old

With “Alouette”, the singer Gilles Dreu had performed one of the biggest hits of the year 1968. This song, created in Argentina, had been adapted into French by Pierre Delanoë. The song had been the biggest success of Gilles Dreu's career.

 

Gilles Dreu has recorded over 200 songs in his career. In 2020, he released a 16th studio album “The Friends Counter“, unreleased songs in the form of duets, including Serge Lama, Fabienne Thibault, Didier Barbelivien, Stone and Gérard Lenorman. Gilles Dreu had been battling cancer since 2020. He died this Tuesday morning at Vals-les-Bains en Ardèche. He was 90 years old.
