The Paris 2024 Olympic Games closed this Sunday, August 11. One of the most striking moments of the closing ceremony was undoubtedly that of the suspended piano scene. Swiss pianist Alain Roche played vertically, gravitating above an open-mouthed audience.
The performance of the Swiss pianist from Jura Alain Roche was billed as one of the most spectacular of the Olympic Games closing ceremony and it did not disappoint. Indeed, suspended in the void, the composer performed a Hymn to Apollo in the air, showing a surreal image. Alain Roche is not his first flight, since he created this slightly crazy project for the first time in 2013. The artist “tinkered” with the entire device alone and won over the public at each of his appearances magical. At the end of 2023, Alain Roche had set itself an incredible challenge: playing 182 concerts suspended above the construction site of the future Konzerthaus (concert hall) of Bavaria, in Munich.
