This Saturday, March 15, 2025, Jean-Luc Reichmann was a guest on the set of Quelle époque. The host opened up about the teasing he endured at school because of the birthmark on his nose. During the show, he revisited the terrible nickname a teacher gave him when he was a child. “I had a French teacher at the Saint-Joseph school in Toulouse, who told me in front of 35 students: 'The Stain, on the board!'In those cases, I was 14 years old, it was very delicate".
“I took it, I digested it. And today, there are lots of young people, even Gims for example, who told me 'The difference is you, us. You gave us strength..' In the playground, there was the freckle, the short one, the fat one, the black one, the white one, the butter one, back then. And I was the stain.”
During his childhood, his mother, Josette, attempted to remove his port-wine stain with medical interventions. This angioma is a benign skin tumor characterized by an abnormal proliferation of blood vessels. Jean-Luc spoke about the subject in a recent interview:
My mother, she took me to the hospital several times to try to look like everyone else… We tried dry ice, it hurt so much… And then after that it was three times more visible. There was a scab that formed, it was horrible. Once, twice, three times… It’s something that is very, very violent. (…) I say: ‘Mom, it hurts too much, I don’t want to go anymore.’ It stays in a child’s head forever.”
