Miss France 2024 decides to lift the veil on her invisible illness: paroxysmal dyskinesia. She talks about the discovery of this neurological disease during childhood and her daily life as Miss France.
In an interview with the media " Konbini " this Saturday, October 26, Eve Gilles agreed to talk about an illness that has stuck to her skin since her youth. The young Miss France 2024, almost in tears, spoke for the first time on this subject.
It was a disease that took up a lot of space for me when I was little, so I didn't want it to define me as a woman and as a Miss it to define me. When I was eight, I felt like I didn't control my body during certain movements. […] It was in basketball, when we had to do accelerations at the end of the session, I felt like I didn't control what I was doing. I talked to my father about it and my parents started to observe my movements. At 14, I was diagnosed with paroxysmal dyskinesia. These are movements that I don't control for a certain period of time. It can be between 25 and 40 seconds, the intensity of the crisis can be more or less strong. […] It can hurt me or I can have difficulty standing. Before having the crisis I have an aura. I know which part of my body will be affected, with what intensity and for how long.
