À Blanquefort nearly Bordeaux , at the foot of the hill, Majolan Park brings together a 4-hectare lake, artificial caves, a rockery bridge, small winding paths among rare and exotic species. False decorative ruins, “the follies”, provide attraction and lead to resting places where benches await visitors.
We discover a spectacular demonstration of the art of rock diggers and the hydraulic ingenuity used in this park to create fountains and water geysers. It is listed in the additional inventory of Historic Monuments and classified Remarkable Garden.

Created at the end of the 19th century by the landscaper Breton at the request of its owner at the time, a wealthy banker. There, on a swamp, he created a 4 hectare lake (all the same!), artificial caves built with lime (it's less dreamy but it's amazing!), woods, bridges, etc… A real gem of what we can do from nothing. The banker went bankrupt, everything remained abandoned for years before being finally sold to a farmer... It was only in 1975 that the commune of Blanquefort acquired the Majolan Park. This was followed by numerous renovations, animal releases (including some splendid Swan always present)
