Christmas in the past! You may have experienced those moments! Memories and nostalgia guaranteed…

The Christmases of the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s were truly special, each reflecting the trends and styles of its era while preserving the timeless magic of the holiday.

50s : After the hardships of World War II, the 50s saw a return to prosperity and simple happiness. Families gathered around the Christmas tree, often decorated with fairy lights and blown glass baubles. Christmas Eve was marked by a traditional meal of turkey, chestnuts, and the famous Yule log. Wooden toys and dolls were popular gifts, and Christmas carols rang through the homes.

60s : The 60s brought a modern twist to Christmas celebrations. Decorations became more colorful and flashy, with the advent of artificial aluminum trees. Christmas music began to include pop songs, influenced by the Beatles and other bands of the era. Gifts included board games, Barbie dolls, and electric toys.

70s : Christmases in the 70s reflected the free spirit and hippie style of the decade. Decorations were often homemade, with tinsel and paper ornaments. Holiday celebrations included social gatherings and dancing. Popular toys included Star Wars action figures, electronic games, and educational toys like the Rubik's Cube.

80s : The 80s saw the rise of highly commercialized Christmas celebrations. Trees were decorated with multi-colored lights and shiny baubles. 80s Christmas music included classics like Wham!'s “Last Christmas” and Band Aid's “Do They Know It's Christmas?” Children dreamed of receiving high-tech toys like Atari video game consoles, Cabbage Patch Kids dolls, and Transformers action figures.

Each decade had its own charm and traditions, but the feeling of joy, sharing and conviviality remained the same.
